Southern Country Junior Football Association (SCJFA)
It’s unsure as to when the Association was either formed or when it ceased, but judging by those clubs below, there is a reasonable possibility that it may have been formed in the very early 1900’s.
The following clubs participated at varying times: Argyle Cadets, Brisbane Rovers, Crescent, Excelsior, Fitzroy, Glenorchy, Imperial, New Town, North Hobart Juniors, Sandy Bay, South Hobart, St. Georges, Standfast, Trinity, Union, Union Jack and West Hobart.

Crescent Football Club
The Crescent club was formed and joined the Derwent Association.
1906
Derwent Football Association
Clubs: Bellerive, Crescent, Holebrook, Imperials premiers,Union.
Played on Bellerive and Beltana grounds.
1907
Southern Tasmanian Junior Football League
Cananore premiers, Crescent, Imperials. The Competition played for the Golding Cup, with headquarters and all games played at the New Town Oval.
1908
Derwent Football Association
Clubs: Crescent, Union captain B. Stevens, Standfast, Lefroy Juniors, Bellerive captain H. Facy. Crescent was declared premiers, winning ten out of eleven games. Grounds used were Bellerive and Lindisfarne.
1909
Tasmanian Football League Junior "B" League
Crescent captained by T. J. McCabe, vice-captain W. Graves, North Hobart Juniors, Lefroy Juniors captained by O. Morgan, vice-captain H. Watt, Cananore Juniors, Union captained by B. Lewis. Ovals used: Bellerive & New Town Sports Ground.
1909
Hobart Junior Football Association
Crescent "B" Juniors premiers, known as the roosters, captained by Lou Turner, vice-captain W. Cluff, wore yellow & blue vertical stripes & white nickers, Collingwood black & white jumpers, white knickers, Hobart Central. Records indicate games played at the Domain.
1910
Southern Tasmania Football Association (STFA)
Formerly known as the Hobart Junior Football Association, and renamed the Southern Tasmania Football Association, it only lasted one season. There were only three teams that played in 1910: Brisbane Rovers, Crescent and Excelsior. Its sole premiership was won by the Excelsior team.

Excelsior, formerly Hobart Central premiers, Crescent and Brisbane Rovers who were introduced when Collingwood disbanded.

Clubs: St George premiers, Excelsoir Juniors runner-up, North Hobart Juniors, Standfast Juniors, Crescent Juniors, Trinity.

Teams Playing Social Games
Social football was common during these times due to a number of circumstances, including availability of players, grounds, umpires and the like.
The following clubs were recorded playing these in 1912: Hope of Hobart, Juvenile Temple #8, Boy's Home, Buckland, Nugent, Sandy Bay Rovers, Claremont, Corporation, Bagdad, Brighton Rovers, Cascade Brewery, North Bridgewater, Excelsior, Bream Creek, Lindisfarne, captained by L.G. Wilson & D. Scott, South Hobart, Standfast, Kingston, who were captained by A.Tringrove, Battery Point, Crescent, West Hobart, Buckingham, captain, O. Morgan, Rokeby, Margate, who also had two captains, B. Mudge & A. Cordwell, Woodsdale, Mt. Seymour, Sandfly, Swansea, Queensborough, Whiteford, Y.M.C.A., Runnymede, Spring Bay and Wellington Rovers.
It can be seen from the many teams involved and spread far and wide throughout the state, clubs were prepared to travel, irrespective of the transport and distance just to be involved in a game of Australian Rules!
